Premium Bandai has re-released the HGTO 1/144 FA-78-2 Heavy Gundam following the first release of the HGTO 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam Roll Out Color.

FA-78-2 Heavy Gundam is a mobile suit from Mobile Suit Discovery. After completing development on the RX-78-01 [FSD] Gundam FSD, two projects were undertaken by the Earth Federation Forces. One was the full mass-production of RX-numbered machines, the other was the expanded weapon system FSWS (Full-armour System and Weapon System) plan. 

The FSWS plan was to strengthen the RX-78 by increasing armor and weapons, and several fuselage design proposals were considered.The FA-78-1 Full Armor Gundam type was outfitted with external armor and weapons upon the fuselage, while the FA-78-2 Heavy Gundam itself was a heavy duty armor fuselage. It achieved improvements in armor, firepower, and maneuverability.

HGTO 1/144 FA-78-2 Heavy Gundam

Premium Bandai has re-released the HGTO 1/144 FA-78-2 Heavy Gundam following the first release of the HGTO 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam Roll Out Color. Released again at a price of JYP 2,420 and will be released on a limited basis in April 2021.

This item reproduces the exterior of the entire body and the large firearm "Frame Launcher" with new modeling. The characteristic black body color and red line marking of the MSD version are also reproduced. The frame launcher reproduces the characteristic shape with the Gatling gun and missile launcher placed at the tip. A special beam rifle that connects to Heavy Gundam Unit 2 is also included.
